The University of Iowa Neuroendocrine Tumors Specialized Program of Research Excellence (NET SPORE) recently received grant funding through the National Cancer Institute. The mission of the NET SPORE is to stimulate multi-disciplinary research in neuroendocrine tumors and translate these observations and discoveries into personalized medicine for early detection, curative treatments, and ultimately, the prevention of neuroendocrine tumors in adults and children. Dr. Gideon Zamba is Co-Director of the Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Core for this research endeavor.
The Biostatistics Core Alliance has recently gained a new member to assist with the ever growing needs of researchers here at the University of Iowa.

Timothy Ginader is a recent graduate from the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Iowa. Originally from Minnesota, he received his BA in Statistics and Economics from the University of Minnesota, Morris. As a graduate student he worked for the Center for Public Health Statistics, another entity within the Biostatistics Core Alliance. In his role as a biostatistician, he will be providing assistance with study design, sample size determination, data management, statistical data analysis, and grant and manuscript preparation for Alliance researchers.
